Yucatan Country Club - Merida, Mexico
The developers of the master planned community, called the Yucatan Country Club oriented around a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, needed a greater variety of residential products to optimize sales and absorption within the development. The Galloway Group generated a series of planning studies to compare optimal land use strategies for both residential and non-residential development sites. Concepts included commercial emporium and retail sites, church and private school facilities, multi-family residences and a variety of single family neighborhood sites. The Galloway Group created a diverse range of product programs within distinctive neighborhoods designed to relate to the existing custom home development and expand the market segmentation to attract US buyers.

The Client looked to The Galloway Group to create a highly appointed active adult community within the master planned resort. The site plan concept featured a neighborhood consisting of both attached luxury condominiums and individual detached court homes oriented around a manmade 'cenote' or deep lake feature that included an 8,500 sq. ft. recreational clubhouse facility and offered auxiliary passive open space areas for gathering and recreational activities. The architectural concept played off of the overall contemporary Mayan theme by creating a modern interpretation of decorative masonry construction inspired by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
