Squaw Valley Resort - Olympic Valley, CA

Charged with creating a vision for the redevelopment of the ski resort property for the new owner, The Galloway Group’s idea was to create a series of alpine villages themed after former European Winter Olympic host cities. The central hotel was themed to replicate the Grand Hotel de Alps while other areas reflected quaint towns like St. Moritz and Innsbruck. The site plan included: a man-made lake, new Olympic House center with a covered ice rink and a proposed family-oriented Mountain House with a cinema, health club and children’s center. The Galloway Group worked with Architopia and TRA/Angle Design on the floor plans and elevations concepts for the amenity buildings.  Land Concern provided conceptual landscape architectural designs for winter and summer users and the overall planning concept included amenities intended to attract year round visitors… envisioning California’s only resort of Olympic proportions.
